“Chopin” Prize – 1st Prize – DMYTRO CHONI (UKR, 24)

{:it}Dmytro Choni si è formato dall’età di quattro anni nelle principali scuole della sua città e attualmente studia nella classe di Milana Chernyavska presso la Hochschule di Graz. Si è aggiudicato importanti premi in numerosi concorsi, tra cui il terzo premio al IV. International Competition for Young Pianists di Tbilisi (Georgia), il primo premio al VII. Alemdar Karamanov International Piano Competition, al I. International Piano Competition Ville de Gagny di Parigi, e all’Ukrainian National Piano Competition di Kiev, oltre al secondo premio al 19th Jean Françaix International Music Competition di Parigi. Ha partecipato a numerose masterclass con importanti musicisti tra cui Yakov Kasman, Mark Danel, Sergey Babayan, Klaus Hellwig e Oxana Yablonskaya. Si è esibito in svariati festival in Ucraina, Paesi Bassi, Polonia, Germania, Svizzera, Francia, Lituania e molti altri.

Nel 2017 si è aggiudicato il 6° Premio al Concorso Pianistico Internazionale “Ferruccio Busoni” di Bolzano.

Dmytro Choni was born in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1993. He received his first piano lessons at the age of four from Galina Zaslavets. He studied in Kyiv with Nina Naiditch and Yuri Kot. Currently, he is a student Milana Chernyavska at the University of Music and Performing Arts of Graz. Dmytro is a laureate of more than 15 international and national competitions, including: 1st prize at the San Sebastian City Piano Competition in Spain (2017); 2nd prize and Silver Medal at the Vladimir Horowitz Piano Competition in Ukraine (2017); 1st prize at the Tucumán Piano Competition in Argentina (2016); 2nd prize at the 7th San Marino Piano Competition (2016); 1st prize at the 20th Stefano Marizza Piano Competition in Italy (2016); 2nd prize (with no 1st prize having been awarded) at the 19th Jean Françaix Music Competition in France (2016); and Grand Prix at the Ville de Gagny Piano Competition in France (2013). He has performed with the a number of symphony orchestras, under conductors such as Francesco Ommassini, Volodymyr Sirenko, Mikhail Leontyev, and Ivan Ostapovych. Dmytro is a frequent participant in the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and receives a scholarship from the Academy. He has received master classes from Sergei Babayan, Klaus Hellwig, Grigory Gruzman, Aquiles delle Vigne, Yakov Kasman and Oxana Yablonskaya. Dmytro has taken part in the Colluvio chamber music project in Austria and in the Zeist Music Days Chamber Music Festival in the Netherlands. He has performed at the Kissinger Sommer Festival in Germany, Next Generation Classic Festival Bad Ragaz in Switzerland, Harmonie Starego Miasta in Poland, and the Kyiv Summer Music Evenings Festival in Ukraine. He has been invited to perform a solo recital at the prestigious Kissinger KlavierOlymp in Bad Kissingen.
