The International Piano Competition “Rome” is held under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, with the patronage and the contribution of the Ministry of Culture, with the Patronage of the Italian Parliament, the Italian Government, the Foreign Office, the Regione Lazio, the Provincia di Roma, the City of Rome, the Vatican Radio and of the EPTA-Italy (European Piano Teachers Association). The Competition was held at the Cultural Center of the Banca d’Italia until 2003 and it is now taking place at the Cloister of the Confraternita di S. Giovanni Battista de’ Genovesi, Rome.
Every year a very high number of young pianists all over the world come to Rome for the International Piano Competition that is held in cooperation with the Fondation Cuomo of Montecarlo and the Discoteca di Stato-Museo dell’Audiovisivo. The manifestation has different partnerships with very important institutions, as the Prize “A. Roussel”, offered by the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris “Alfred Cortot”-Comité “A. Roussel”, of the Rotary Club, Lions Club and many others. During the years were recordered compact-discs of the winners, also distributed in about fifty different Counties all over the world.
The best music level of the “Rome” Competition’s expresses itself in the prizewinners’ concert in one of the most important theatres of Rome, broadcasted by the RAI and by the Vatican Radio. Juries are composed every year by eminent international concert performers, pedagogues, composers and journalists from many countries. |
